Payroll Officer
- Permanent Part-Time position (20 hours per week, but may vary depending on workload)
- Flexible days and working hours (to be discussed at interview)

- $65,000 - $78,000 pro rata per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)

Role | Nga mahi
The Payroll Officer will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll for 300+ employees on a fortnightly cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with legislation and organisational requirements. Other key accountabilities include:
- Maintaining employee master data and ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance
- Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, including employee data updates
- Submitting IRD lodgments and filing PAYE & other IRD returns
- Assisting with payroll reporting and reconciliation tasks
- Responding to and resolving payroll queries including leave and entitlement
- Identifying and recommending payroll system/process improvements
The role requires that the successful applicant be on-site from Monday to Wednesday during payroll weeks for payroll processing, and for payroll maintenance during non-payroll weeks.
Full training will be provided on our Datacom payroll system, however experience with Datacom is an advantage.
You will have | Nga Pukenga
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in end-to-end payroll processing in New Zealand
- Experience managing a large payroll (at least 100+ employees) in New Zealand
- Knowledge of PAYE, KiwiSaver, Holidays Act, and general payroll best practice
- Experience using a large payroll system (Datacom or other) and strong excel skills
- High attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- A high level of integrity and confidentiality
- A valid/current work visa, residency, or citizenship (required)
