Registered Nurse – Waikato Services
- Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week)
- Service operates 24 hours, 7 days a week on a rotating roster (AM/PM/Awake shifts)
- Service hub is located in Rototuna, covering the Waikato region
- Pay is in line with pay equity as funded for NGO's (starting pay step is dependent on number of years since first registered in NZ)

About The Service | Ko Te Whare O Waikato Services
Our Waikato services are responsible for delivering individual and clinical support programs for whaiora with high and complex needs from adult mental health and forensic mental health services.
Together, we form a talented, effective, and multi-disciplinary team who pride ourselves on our ability to utilize our different skills, knowledges, and experiences (both personal and professional) to support our whaiora. By empowering our whaiora to build daily routines and by offering them on-going tools and encouragement, we support them to develop, grow, and flourish as individuals and within their communities.
About The Role | Nga mahi
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team, delivering recovery-focused care that supports tāngata whaiora to regain independence and reintegrate into the community.
The Registered Nurse plays a key clinical role within the service, working alongside community and peer support workers to ensure safe and effective care. You will work collaboratively to ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. You will work directly with the whaiora, identifying strengths, goals, and issues. Along with this you will also be coordinating (key working) allocated whaiora (entry, client pathway, reviewing external client meetings, and exit).
You will have | Nga Pukenga
- Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and current Annual Practising Certificate (required)
- Current Full NZ Driver’s Licence (required)
- A valid/current work visa, residency, or citizenship (required)
- A client centred, recovery-focused approach.
- Experience with nursing in mental health and/or addiction services settings
- Knowledge of mental health rehabilitation approaches, experience working with co-occurring addictions and/or cognitive difficulties, and knowledge of Māori health approaches (preferred)
- A passion for walking along side those in need, supporting on-going goals on the pathway to recovery.
