Senior Support Worker, Intensive Support Service
- Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week)
- Service operates, Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
- Position is based from our New Lynn service.
- Pay Scale: $68,916 - $81,077 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)

The Service | Ko Te Whare O ISS
ISS provides tailored, person-centred support for whaiora with high and complex needs, particularly those with intellectual disabilities and forensic mental health backgrounds.
ISS focuses on enhancing clients' quality of life through structured day programmes that develop life skills, foster community participation, and promote independence.
Support Workers collaborate with clients to set and achieve personal goals, employing behavioural interventions and strength-based approaches to facilitate reintegration into the community.
We work in partnership with residential services to provide an all-encompassing array of supportive services to facilitate the client on their pathway to rehabilitation.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our Intensive Support Services (ISS) team at Ember. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality, client-centred support that empowers individuals to grow, develop, and achieve their personal goals.
Reporting to the ISS Team Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of support workers to deliver services aligned with Ember’s policies, ISS-specific procedures, and each client's individual Risk Management and Service Plans.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing behaviour support and therapeutic interventions based on each client's Care and Rehabilitation Plan (CARP)
- Supporting clients to build independence within their cultural, social, and economic contexts
- Planning and coordinating responsive, individualised programmes and supports
- Conducting thorough needs assessments and translating these into practical, innovative solutions
- Mentoring and coaching staff while providing day-to-day operational and clinical leadership at our Otahuhu site
You will have | Nga Pukenga
- A New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or equivalent.
- Full NZ Drivers Licence
- Valid/current work visa, residency, or citizenship
- Experience working with intellectual disability and complex behaviours
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Knowledge of risk management and best practice support models
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A passion for walking along side those in need, supporting on-going goals on the pathway to recovery.
