IPS - Employment Consultant
- Permanent, Full time (40hours per week), Monday – Friday.
- Position is based at Helensville.
- Pay Equity: $25.00ph - $30.00ph (depending on qualification held and its equivalence to the Certificate in Health and Wellbeing L4)

The Service | Ko Te Whare O IPS
Individual Placement and Support (IPS) is an innovative new service within our Ember Employment Service that will work using an integrated approach with Waitemata District Health Board’s community mental health services in the Rodney District to support people into employment.
IPS is evidence–based approach allowing individuals with significant disabilities fulfill their employment aspirations and achieve meaningful social and economic inclusion. It can also offer employers the positive benefits of diversity. This is a win-win-win situation as individuals, organisations, communities, even the government benefit from your endeavours.
Role | Naga mahi
As an IPS Employment Consultant, you will support clients into employment of their choice. You will provide ongoing support for clients in employment and assisting them to recognize and maximize their strengths.
You will assist them to work towards their recovery goals and help develop their career plans, by supporting them to develop up-to-date resume’s, completing job applications and interview confidence.
Using your interpersonal skills, you will build trusting and collaborative relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at various levels, including liaising with Mental Health Services and Work & Income
You will | Nga Pukenga
- National Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or equivalent
- Full current NZ drivers’ license
- Ideally have experience working within Employment Support or related roles e.g. WINZ, Careers Advisor, Benefits or working in the disability, youth, residential and/or mental health
- Have the ability to manage highly sensitive matters whilst maintaining confidentiality and objectivity
- Thrive on achieving targets – persistence, resilience, drive and determination to succeed.
- Have exceptional written and verbal communications skills and the ability to relate, adapt to and engage a wide spectrum of people with diverse backgrounds, ages and cultures.
- Hold a valid/current work visa, residency, or citizenship
- Have a passion for walking along side those in need, supporting on-going goals on the pathway to recovery.
