Team Manager
- Permanent, full-time position (40hours per week)
- Primarily Monday – Friday, however the service operates 24 hours, 7days a week on a rotating roster.

The Service:
Piki Te Ora is a 7-bed residential service in the Hillcrest Hamilton area for people experiencing mental health issues. Delivered in partnership with Te Whatu Ora, there is a mix of support workers, registered mental health professionals, culturally supportive staff, and people with their own experience of mental health issues ensuring that treatment, rehabilitation and support are performed by one integrated team.
Piki Te Ora is open 24/7 and is available to anyone who is supported by their community mental health team. A referral is required from the Residential Co-ordination Service to access our service.
There are no ‘typical’ lengths of stay. People have freedom, can make choices and can work on practical, emotional, and social skills at a pace that feels comfortable for them.
Role:
Team Manager’s role is to provide excellent leadership and management to the staff within their service. This is to ensure the delivery of quality recovery and person-centred focussed services to our guests/whai ora, as well as support the sustainability, growth and development of the service and Ember.
As the Team Manager, you are to provide the environment to generate a high performing, capable, productive, and engaging team to deliver outstanding services. They are to manage the service so optimal levels of staff are available for rosters, are qualified, trained, motivated, coached and developed to perform will in their roles.
You will:
- Hold a current registered in either of the following fields:
- Occupational Therapy
- DAPAANZ
- Counselling
- Social Work
- Nursing
- Past experience in leadership and/or management is preferred
- Full NZ Drivers Licence
- Valid/Current work visa, residency, or citizenship
- Be able to encourage and role model positive behaviours, participation, and communication in all activities and in line with our values.
- Have some understanding of financial management to support Ember’s procedures.
