- Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week)

The Service:
Toro Mai a Ringa is a partnership with Te Whatu Ora - Lakes area under the Te Ara Tauwhirotanga model of care. Located within the community in Rotorua the residence provides support for people who have complex needs beyond the normal capability of residential mental health providers.
Its name means outstretched hands and it’s a place where people from within the Lakes rohe can rebuild their lives and go back to the community.
By utilising different skills, knowledge, and experiences (personal and professional) we offer our whai ora support to build daily routines, offering on-going tools and encouragement to develop, grow and flourish.
Role:
In this role you utilise skills and knowledge in your chosen registered field to support the plans for whai ora within the service. This means working alongside Kaimahi (residential/peer support Workers), Seniors, and Team Manager, effectively ensuring service meets whai ora outcome.
You will work directly with the whai ora, identifying strengths, goals, and issues. Along with this you will also be coordinating (key working) allocated whai ora; entry, client pathway, reviews external client meetings as well as exit.
You will:
- Be working towards registration or hold full registration in either of the following fields:
- Occupational Therapy
- DAPAANZ
- Counselling
- Social Work
- Nursing
- Full NZ Drivers Licence
- Hold a valid/current work visa, residency, or citizenship
- Have client centred, recovery-focused approach. You must unwaveringly believe in people’s ability to progress no matter the obstacles.
- Have knowledge of mental health rehabilitation approaches (e.g., cognitive remediation, psychosocial rehabilitation), experience working with co-occurring addictions and/or cognitive difficulties and knowledge of Māori health approaches would be greatly welcomed.
- Have a passion for walking along side those in need, supporting on-going goals on the pathway to recovery.
Vaccination:
Ember has taken a stance in requiring all applying to have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (booster) vaccinations. This is to protect our Kaimahi and Whai ora.
